DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is a hormone produced by your body's adrenal glands.  It functions as a precursor to male and female sex hormones, including testosterone and estrogen.

DHEA supplements are NOT acne safe, and will contribute to oil production.   If a client is taking DHEA supplements, advise them to stop before they being the OAP.
