What to Say When a Client is NOT Adhering to Diet Changes

Diet absolutely affects your gut health!  Once our body has taken all of the nutrients it needs from our food, the waste is passed into the large intestine (aka "gut").  The waste is now toxic to the rest of the body and it is important that it moves quickly.  If this toxic waste sits in the gut for more than 12 hours, it starts to seep into the bloodstream.  The blood stream is where our hormones are carried and also what nourishes our skin.  It is important to remove foods that are acne triggering and have at least 1 bowel move per day and optimally 2 bowel moves per day.

Different foods affect everyone differently. So, there might be an ingredient that might be extremely acne aggravating to me, but not bother you at all. However, while you go through the process of getting clear, there are known acne-triggering foods that we ask you to eliminate or avoid. This doesn't necessarily mean you will have to give these products up forever. After you are clear and have moved into maintenance, we can slowly introduce certain foods back in one at a time to deduce which are acne-safe or triggering for you. However, as of now I am noticing new breakouts around the cheeks, which is usually indicative of a flaw in the diet. I will attach some helpful handouts that describe which foods to eliminate and avoid, as well as acceptable substitutes foods. In addition, foods to minimize include sugar (cookies, cakes, soda, fruit juice, ice cream, candy), white bread and pasta Non-organic meat (Free Range lean meat products are the best).
