    Topical application of the active ingredient in Clarifying Cleanser, benzoyl peroxide, is generally considered safe during pregnancy + breastfeeding due to its low systematic absorption.  However, we always recommend you talk with your doctor first.
     
  6. Are there any adverse reactions to Clarifying Cleanser?
    The most common adverse effect comes from the active ingredient, benzoyl peroxide, and that is its bleaching quality.  Potentially causing the discoloration of colored fabrics and bleaching of hair.  At higher concentrations of topical Benzoyl Peroxide, can cause mild dryness, There are also case reports of contact dermatitis in a small percentage of patients.
