Do NOT use if you are pregnant or nursing

Ingredients:

Distilled Water:

Polyoxyethylene-Polyoxypropylene

R3A- proprietary ingredient- Why R3A is unique?

R3A enables us to use heat to cause "solid dispersion" of the active ingredient (non-water soluble ingredient).  This breaks the active ingredient down to its individual molecules.  This gives us the greatest surface area and the smallest molecule size.

How R3A works in the skin?

Due to the fact that we now have the smallest size, the active

ingredient can now go into the dermis.  R3A is peculiar, in that it is

a liquid at room-temperature and forms into a gel at body temperature.

So, when the R3A enters the skin as a liquid, it quickly forms a gel

and becomes a topical filler (we believe the world's first).

Primary benefits of R3A?

1. Small size allows to penetrate the size.

2. Active ingredient gets to where it needs to be inside the skin.

3. Reverse thermal hydrogel.  Goes in as a liquid and forms a gel.

Topical filler.

Bakuchiol: (pronounced buh-KOO-chee-ill)

Bakuchiol is natural, while retinol is synthetic.

Bakuchiol helps to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation by visibly plumping the skin, encouraging collagen production, and boosting cellular turnover. This ingredient also fights free radicals that can lead to the development of skin cancer. Bakuchiol (a retinol alternative), nourishes, and brings about a youthful glow—without irking even the most sensitive of skin types!

Types of Retinoid

There are five types of retinoid, all which have varying degrees of effectiveness. Retinol is the third strongest over-the-counter option while tretinoin and tazarotene are available by prescription only.

However Retinol can also be too harsh for those with sensitive skin. Studies show the side effects can be as serious as burning, scaling, and dermatitis. And with an ingredient that loses effectiveness over time, that’s not good news for people who need to consistently apply. These downsides are what led to the popularity of bakuchiol.

“Studies have shown that bakuchiol helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles, and helps with pigmentation, elasticity, and firmness.” “It works through the same receptors that retinol uses, which is why many refer to it as a natural retinol alternative,” says Dr. Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital.

The babchi plant has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese medicine for its numerous benefits.

What Are The Downsides To Bakuchiol?

Bakuchiol takes longer than Vitamin A to see visible results.

The effects of bakuchiol get better with time. So, a little bit of patience and consistency is all it takes for your skin to reap the numerous benefits.

Clinical studies show visible improvements in fine lines, wrinkles, skin tone and elasticity starting at week 4, but most significant at week 12.

How To Use Bakuchiol:

Unlike retinol, bakuchiol can be used during the day without concern for photosensitivity. However, we recommend incorporating it into your evening routine, when skin has switched over from defense to repair mode.

Bakuchiol can be confidently used in tandem with other treatments, such as acids and vitamin C. It pairs well with most skincare ingredients.

Apply every other night, on nights you don't wear Acne Med.

Does Bakuchiol minimize dark spots and hyperpigmentation?

Bakuchiol reduces the appearance of uneven skin tone and dark spots, comparable to the effects of retinol. Two clinical studies in 2014 and 2018 demonstrated a significant reduction in pigmentation using .5% bakuchiol over a 12 week period.

Is Bakuchiol safe for pregnancy?

At this time there is not enough data available that indicates whether or not it is safe to use during pregnancy. As always, we recommend checking with your doctor when pregnant or nursing.

What is the recommended percentage of Bakuchiol in a product?

It is recommended that the concentration of Bakuchiol is between .1 and 1%

Sodium hyaluronate:

Sodium hyaluronate vs. hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid has two salt forms: sodium hyaluronate and potassium hyaluronate. As the name suggests, sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt version.

Sodium hyaluronate is part of HA. It can be extracted and used separately. This is important because it changes how the substance affects the skin.

The difference comes down to molecular weight. Hyaluronic acid has a high molecular weight, which means it’s a macromolecule. The large molecules coat the skin and prevent water loss, leading to better hydration.

Sodium hyaluronate has a lower molecular weight than hyaluronic acid. It’s small enough to penetrate the epidermis, or top layer of the skin. In turn, it can improve hydration from the underlying skin layers.

Since sodium hyaluronate is derived from HA, it’s sometimes called “hyaluronic acid.” It may be listed as “hyaluronic acid (as sodium hyaluronate)” on skin care labels.

Sodium hyaluronate in skin care

-As a derivative of HA, sodium hyaluronate has similar benefits to HA. It’s been proven to:

-Moisturize the skin

-Sodium hyaluronate is hydrophilic, meaning it easily mixes with water.

-When applied topically, it attracts moisture in skin cells. This reduces dryness and flaking by increasing skin hydration.

-Compared to high molecular weight HA, sodium hyaluronate can provide a greater hydrating effect. This is due to its low molecular weight, according to a 2019 report.

Reduce appearance of wrinkles

Dry skin makes fine lines and creases more noticeable. But as sodium hyaluronate hydrates the skin, it improves the appearance of wrinkles.Formulas with sodium hyaluronate decreased wrinkle depth and improved elasticity. Researchers have linked this effect to the hydrating properties of HA.

Reduce skin inflammation

Sodium hyaluronate can also soothe skin inflammation.

In a 2013 study, an HA sodium salt cream reduced symptoms of rosacea in adults. Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition that causes redness, burning, and bumps.

According to the study, low molecular weight HA promotes the production of beta-defensin 2 (DEFβ2,) a compound that promotes tissue healing. It also controls the activity of inflammatory cells.

Similarly, in a 2014 studyTrusted Source

showed HA sodium salt gel improved an inflammatory skin disorder called seborrheic dermatitis.

Heal wounds

What Are the Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid?

HA can bind up to 1000 times its weight in water, can speed wound healing time, promote supple skin.

Xanthan Gum:

Type of Ingredient:

 Thickener and emulsifying agent

Main Benefits:

While it's mainly used for formulation purposes, xanthan gum might have some skin conditioning properties because it is a polysaccharide, or sugar molecule.

Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-52:

Properties:

  1. Part of the “Botox-in-a-jar” collection of molecules known for relaxing the muscles

  2. Studies have shown to reduce expression lines by 20% in about 28 days

  3. Known for reducing the amount of neurotransmitters which makes your brain tell your muscles to contract

  4. Able to work closely with other Hexapeptides found in the technology behind the collection of anti-ageing molecules

What is Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-52?

Palmitoyl hexapeptide-52 reduces the amounts of neurotransmitters to get through the channels of the skin resulting in wrinkles  developing. It is able to do this by preventing the brain from telling your muscles to contract resulting in the same freezing results you find with injectables such as Botox, without having to use invasive techniques or tools. To keep the skin protected it is important to team any product containing this clever ingredient with a daily SPF and serum enriched in humectant ingredients such as hyaluronic acid.

Glycolic Acid:

What is glycolic acid?

Glycolic acid is a type of alpha-hydroxy acid (or AHA) that's derived from sugar cane. It joins other acids you might recognize, such as lactic acid (derived from sour milk), tartaric acid (from grapes), and citric acid—which, you might guess, comes from citrus fruits.

But it's unique. “Of the AHAs, glycolic is the simplest in structure and the smallest; it has the lowest molecular weight,” says Kenneth Howe, M.D., a dermatologist at Union Derm in New York City. That small molecular weight means “it's easy for it to penetrate your skin and be super effective,” says Alix Shapiro, skin therapist at Heyday in NYC.

What does glycolic acid do for your skin?

When it comes to glycolic acid benefits, the list is long. First and foremost, glycolic acid is an exfoliant. It helps shed dead skin cells and reveal the newer, brighter layers underneath by acting on the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin). “Normal, intact stratum corneum consists of tightly packed layers of dead skin cells that are tightly bonded together,” says Dr. Howe. "Glycolic acid loosens these bonds.” With their glue dissolved by glycolic acid, those tough, rough layers of dead skin cells can more easily slough away.

But because glycolic acid is so small, it can get deeper into your skin too, where it does some serious work. “Glycolic acid stimulates fibroblasts in the dermis to produce increased amounts of collagen,” says Dr. Howe. And by stimulating collagen production, it helps skin feel firmer and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. Between the superficial action on your stratum corneum and the work it does below, “your skin will feel smoother and look more radiant and even-toned,” Shapiro says.

Lactic Acid:

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, or AHA, used in over-the-counter (OTC) skin care products and professional treatments. Lactic acid is used to remove dead skin cells, lighten dark spots, and improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

All alpha hydroxy acids exfoliate and improve skin texture, but lactic acid has an extra benefit you won't get from other AHAs, like glycolic acid and mandelic acid.

It helps improve the skin's natural moisture factor, or the way the skin keeps itself hydrated.2

Basically, lactic acid helps to keep the skin moisturized and feeling less dry.

When you use lactic acid regularly, it can also improve signs of aging. It does so by stimulating the renewal of collagen, a fiber that helps keep the skin firm.

Polyvinyl Alcohol:

Functions as a gel-based thickener, film-forming agent, and binding agent.

Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-18:

The physiology of muscle contraction is well known. The mechanisms by which muscle contracts are well defined. For years, many different cosmetic ingredients have tried to fight against wrinkles and lines of expression caused by muscle contraction.

Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-18 is a smart ligand that identifies the neuronal cells controlling skin deeper muscle micro-contractions and represses the calcium entry into the neuron, inhibiting acetylcholine release into the synaptic space. In short, this innovative peptide binds neurons and blocks the neuromuscular connection, providing a Botox-like effect with minimal concentrations and without injections.

In high-end formulations, Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-18 combined with Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-52 also blocks neurons' calcium channels, potentiating (working in synergy and enhancing efficiency) the neuromuscular-blocking effect and lowering peptide concentrations up to 0.001%. This peptide duo reduces deep wrinkles and fine lines from 20 to 27% in 28 days of treatment.

Diazolidinyl Urea:

Diazolidinyl urea is an ingredient used in skincare and cosmetic products to help ensure the safety and longevity of the product.

Diazolidinyl urea is a preservative, preventing the growth of bacteria, protecting your products from spoilage. Diazolidinyl urea is a water-soluable preservative that is considered to be safe at concentrations up to 0.5%.

Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate:

IPBC is a preservative that helps prevent mold, bacteria, and other germs from spreading in creams, lotions, and other products.
