In regards to the iodine, sea salt actually contains some iodine in it. If you are eating sea salt you are still getting iodine in your diet. We are not asking you to completely eliminate iodine; we are simply bringing it to a more normal amount. In the typical American diet we get about 10x the amount of iodine that we actually need. That being said, I would not worry that you are not getting any at all because that is typically not the case.
