I see that you have not been icing your skin in the AM and PM. Icing is a critical part of your regimen and it is imperative that this step is NOT skipped. Icing is an anti-inflammatory, which will reduce the inflammation in the pore. This allows your products to penetrate better to get deep down into your pores. A challenge with inflamed acne is that the inflammation has taken over the pore and there is hardly any opening. If one is using active products, we need the product to get deep into the pore where the microcomedone has started and formed. However, this cannot happen if the pore is being closed off by all of the inflammation in the surrounding skin. So, by applying ice to the inflamed lesion, active ingredients are able to then flow down, deep into the pore where they are needed to actually work. Versus sitting on the surface of the skin and doing nothing. This is why we have you ice active breakouts for 2 minutes in both the AM and the PM before you apply your active products. In addition, it is very soothing to the skin! Cooling masks are okay to use, but make sure there is no adhesive on it.
Ice rollers are generally not acceptable for icing, however great for people with a lot of active acne and for teens/clients who don’t want to sit and ice each breakout for 2 minutes.
Do NOT apply ice cubes directly to the face.
