Title: LED Therapy Single Treatment P&P
Policy: All clinical aesthetic staff rendering client care will adhere to this protocol
Purpose: To safely and effectively help the process of clearing the skin
Definition: Clinical Protocol
Indications: To help the process of clearing acne prone skin by breaking down bacteria and helping the skin heal.
Contraindications: Use caution with clients on anti-seizure medications or blood pressure medication.
Setting-up the Treatment Room:
- Cleanse the skin with Ultra Gentle Cleanser
- Tone the skin
- Do extractions as needed letting the client know we charge $15 for extractions
- Do extractions as requested
- Apply acne med to the active breakouts
- Select settings on the LED
- After the LED apply Lotion and SPF to the client
Procedure:
- All clients treated will have a skin history consultation, during which time questions are answered, as well as discussing potential risks, complications, and anticipated results. Each client will have a complete skin history and screening for allergies of topical products that will be applied to the skin.
- These completed forms will be present in the chart.
- Any drug allergies will be noted on the front of the chart.
- Client will lay on treatment bed in supine position.
- Clinician will wear latex gloves.
- Apply cleanser to client.
- Wipe off cleanser with non-woven gauze.
- Tone the client
- Ask if they would like extractions for additional 15.00.
- If so do extractions.
- Add Acne med 5% to active breakouts on the skin.
- Set LED to desired settings and let clients lay on the treatment table for 20 minutes.
- Return and apply lotion and sunscreen to the client.
Clean-up:
- Dispose of Lancet into sharps red container. Thoroughly clean all implements used including mag lap, extracting tools and product bottles. Washing any extracting tools with soap and water and placing them in Barbicide.
- Place dirty laundry in the dirty laundry hamper.
