This is an example of a Week 3-4 Regimen. This is the client's first check-in, so you want to make sure you include as much information as possible, and double check laundry, haircare, makeup, diet, and any supplements outside of Clove Hill supplements. Address any challenges they list or questions they ask.
Best Practice: Add what laundry, haircare, makeup and any additional supplements the client is using in the CC Notes.
Thank you for your timely check-in. :) I see that you gave yourself an ASR of "C", but I am giving you an "A" because I only see a few breakouts. Please keep in mind the ASR is an evaluation of the amount of active/inflamed acne you have and NOT any flat dark marks (i.e. hyperpigmentation) left behind from previous breakouts. C = 11-20 breakouts, whereas A = 1-3 breakouts.
Given this info, would you still give yourself an ASR of "C"?
I see you have done your acne regimen 75% of the time and taking your supplements 95% of the time. As a reminder, doing your regimen and taking your supplements consistently is very important and will determine what type of results you will have throughout and when you complete the program. I understand it is a lot of responsibility and to remember, however if you are skipping steps in your regimen and not taking your supplements, you will not get the results you are hoping for and expect. In addition, Acne Gel is the backbone of the program, so it's very important that this step not be skipped. We are here to help you with your clear skin journey and know that we can achieve your clear skin goals if you are sticking to the regimen, taking your supplements and following the lifestyle changes! :)
I know from experience how much commitment it takes to complete the program, so I am here for you to help any way I can along the way! :) A couple of suggestions to help you remember: You can set an alarm on your phone to help you remember to take your supplements. You can also tape your regimen and/or reminders to your bathroom mirror. Try to take your supplements and do your regimen at the same time during the day/night. Please let Casey know in the Clear Connections messages if there is something in particular you are having issues with when doing your regimen and taking your supplements. :)
Great job with icing in the AM and PM! As a reminder, icing is a critical part of your regimen and it is imperative that this step is NOT skipped. Icing is an anti-inflammatory, which will reduce the inflammation in the pore. This allows your products to penetrate better to get deep down into your pores. A challenge with inflamed acne is that the inflammation has taken over the pore and there is hardly any opening. If one is using active products, we need the product to get deep into the pore where the microcomedone has started and formed. However, this cannot happen if the pore is being closed off by all of the inflammation in the surrounding skin. So, by applying ice to the inflamed lesion, active ingredients are able to then flow down, deep into the pore where they are needed to actually work. Versus sitting on the surface of the skin and doing nothing. This is why we have you ice active breakouts for 2 minutes in both the AM and the PM before you apply your active products. In addition, it is very soothing to the skin! Cooling masks are okay to use, but make sure there is no adhesive on it.
I see you marked having flaky skin. This is normal, and actually what we want to happen. This means you are shedding your dead skin cells, as opposed to those skin cells getting trapped in your pore, which contributes to your breakouts. Although necessary, I know it's not a fun look.
Here are a few suggestions to help with drying/flaky skin:
- Drink LOTS of water
- Sleep with a humidifier
- Add moisturizer throughout the day, as needed
- Add SPF throughout the day, as needed
- Add Hydraboost throughout the day, as needed
- Reduce caffeine and Alcohol intake
If you every experience any pain, or irritation please reach out to me ASAP in the Clear Connection messages, and we will adjust your regimen accordingly. Do NOT alter your regimen.
Different foods affect everyone differently. So, there might be an ingredient that might be extremely acne aggravating to me, but not bother you at all. However, while you go through the process of getting clear, there are known acne-triggering foods that we ask you to eliminate or avoid. This doesn't necessarily mean you will have to give these products up forever. After you are clear and have moved into maintenance, we can slowly introduce certain foods back in one at a time to deduce which are acne-safe or triggering for you.
Here are a few suggestions that I like to give my clients:
Try and do some meal prepping one or two days a week. This is what has helped me personally. It's really hard to rely on packaged foods all of the time. I make a big batch of Quinoa or rice, cut up vegetables for the week, and make homemade hummus that lasts us a couple of weeks almost. That way I can quickly make veggie wraps or salads. I make soups and freeze them so I always have those available if I need. Also having different pre-made, cold bean salads or chickpea salads are fast and super easy so they are ready to eat whenever and pack well. Toast with goat cheese, walnuts, drizzled honey and rosemary is delicious for breakfast or lunches. Oatmeal is easy to pre-make and keep for a few days. Pinterest has been my best friend for meal prepping :)
We also offer an amazing cookbook with a ton of information you can use for skin-safe eating. It offers about 2 weeks worth of meals with snack and desserts too. It can help you think outside of the box and not make your diet feel restrictive! I have included a link here if you would like to check this out. Clear Skin From Within Cookbook
Here are some snacks you can try, as well: Rx bars or Lara Bars (no peanut butter), Siete chips with guacamole or hummus, goat cheese & crackers, beef or turkey jerky (no soy or salt, sea salt is okay), raw veggies & hummus, bananas or apples with almond butter, CHOMPS turkey or beef sticks.
Please let us know in the messages if we can help support you further with diet recommendations. :)
I'm so glad to see that you've already seen some improvement in your gut health with taking the Probiotics!
**At this point I like to double-check your Acne Gel dosage- please send me a photo of how much you dispense into your hand before applying during your PM regimen tonight! (dosage is directly correlated to what kind of results you have in the program, so I check on this throughout the program!). You can send this photo in the chat using the paperclip icon to attach it.
For the face changes this week, please begin using the Sal-C Toner in your PM regimen. Salicylic is a powerful ingredient used to fight acne, and in combination with the benzoyl peroxide in your acne med, will really target the inflamed breakouts.
You will also start wearing your Acne Gel 2.8% or 5% all night, and will no longer be applying Balancing Lotion at night.
Start using your Mandelic Serum 8% or 11% every day.
Add Hydraboost to your regimen to lock in moisture.
Please let me know in the Clear Connection messages, if you have any questions, or concerns.
Otherwise, we look forward to receiving the photo of your Acne Gel dosage.
Thanks, and have a great day!
